What should I do if I encounter an error while linking my bank account?


Real-Time Verification


If you encounter an error with Real-Time Verification:

  • Confirm Bank Information: Ensure the bank account is a U.S. account. If it’s not supported, use micro-deposit verification.
  • Try Again Later: Errors might be due to technical issues at the bank. Retry later.
  • Use a Different Bank Account: Attempt to link an account from another bank or institution.
  • Switch Verification Method: If errors persist, use micro-deposit verification.
  • Credit Unions: They may not support real-time verification. Use micro-deposit verification instead.


Micro-Deposit Verification


If you haven’t received the two micro-deposits or encounter further issues:

  • Verify Timing: Micro-deposits are processed within 48 hours. If started over the weekend, expect up to two additional business days.
  • Check Statements: Review your bank’s online platform for incoming deposits.
  • Check with Your Bank: Confirm that your bank supports ACH transfers and can receive micro-deposits.
  • Retry Verification: If deposits aren’t visible, wait two business days and retry verification. Ensure bank details are correct.
  • Use a Different Bank Account: If both verification methods fail, consider linking a different bank account.

You have up to three attempts to enter the micro-deposit amounts correctly. If the first attempt fails, try reversing the order of the amounts.
