What is the ACH deposit limit?

The daily limit for ACH deposits is $200,000.

All deposits to Webull must be made in U.S. dollars (USD). Webull does not accept deposits in any other currency at this time.

How can I track the status of my deposit?

To monitor the status and estimated settlement date of your deposit, go to Transfers ➝ Recent Activity on the Webull mobile app. This section provides real-time updates on your transaction's progress.

How long does my ACH deposit take to process?

ACH deposits typically take 3-4 business days to process. However, funds might be accessible sooner for trading via Instant Buying Power.

  • If you make a deposit before 4:00 PM EST, the deposit will settle at around 9:30 AM on the fourth business day after your deposit.
  • If you make a deposit after 4:00 PM EST or during the weekend, the deposit will settle at around 9:30 AM on the fifth business day after your deposit.

Example

Deposit Initiation Time (EST)
Estimated Arrival Time (EST)
Monday 3:00 PM
Thursday 9:30 AM
Monday 4:10 PM
Friday 9:30 AM

For ACH deposits made directly into futures accounts, settlement timelines may differ. For additional details, please click here.

What is Instant Buying Power?

Before your deposit is fully settled, you may have access to Instant Buying Power, which you can use to start trading right away. Instant Buying Power can be used for stock and ETF trading for eligible accounts. The amount of Instant Buying Power is related to your deposit amount, account type, cash balance, market value of your positions, and your total amount of incoming funds.

  • Due to higher reversal risks, certain institutions may not be eligible for instant buying power on ACH deposits. If you would like Instant Buying Power from your ACH deposit, you may link an alternative institution. You may also refer to our wire instructions for depositing via wire transfer.
  • No Instant Buying Power will be credited from pending ACH deposits until the open margin call in the account is met.
  • Instant Buying Power will not be granted if there have been multiple deposit reversals on your account.
  • Please note, Instant Buying Power may not be available to open positions in highly volatile stocks or leveraged ETFs.
  • Proceeds from the sale of securities purchased using Instant Buying Power will replenish your account’s buying power intraday. However, if those funds were previously used in a day trade before being reused, the proceeds will not restore buying power. Standard Good Faith Violation rules apply.

Time Frame

  • If you make a deposit before 4:00 PM EST, the Instant Buying Power is most likely given on the same business day.
  • If you make a deposit after 4:00 PM EST or during the weekend, the Instant Buying Power will be delivered at around 9:30 AM EST the following business day.

The volatility of a security is determined by internal risk policies, considering factors such as average daily volume (ADV), price, market capitalization, sector, type of security, trading market, recent IPOs, hard-to-borrow status, one-day price fluctuation, and firm holdings.

What should I know about ACH deposit reversals?

An ACH deposit typically takes up to 4 business days to settle. If the deposit is reversed before it settles, the following may occur:

  • A $5 fee per reversal will be charged. This fee cannot be reversed.
  • Your credit standing with Webull may be negatively affected, potentially leading to account closure in severe cases.

Tips to avoid ACH deposit reversals

  • Maintain Sufficient Funds: Ensure your bank account has enough funds to cover the deposit until it is deducted.
  • Use a Personal Bank Account: Only use your own bank account for deposits. Avoid using someone else's account.
  • Verify Bank Information: Confirm that your bank account supports standard outgoing ACH transfers and that the details you entered are accurate.
  • Avoid Savings Accounts: Many savings accounts have transaction limitations and may not support ACH transfers. Confirm with your financial institution before making a deposit.

Common reasons for ACH reversals include

  • Insufficient Funds: The account lacks the funds needed for the transaction.
  • Duplicate Transactions: The transaction was processed more than once.
  • Rejection by the Bank: The bank declined the transaction for various reasons.
  • Self-Initiated Recall: The transaction was recalled by the originator.

If you have questions regarding a reversal, please reach out to your bank directly, as Webull does not initiate reversals.

Why was my ACH deposit rejected?

Your ACH deposit could be rejected for a number of reasons. Common rejection reasons include:

  1. Invalid ABA or SWIFT Code: Ensure you’ve entered the correct routing number or SWIFT code. You can relink your bank account with the accurate details after confirming them.
  2. Daily Limit Exceeded: Your deposit will exceed the daily ACH deposit limit of $200,000.
  3. Expired ACH Link: If you recently updated your bank account password, registered email, or other key information, your ACH link may have expired. Unlink your ACH connection and relink your bank account to resolve this.
  4. Connection Issues: There may be connectivity issues between your Webull account and your bank. Unlink your bank account and use real-time or micro-deposit verification to relink it and establish a secure connection.

What is free riding?

Free riding occurs when Instant Buying Power from an ACH deposit is used to buy and sell a position before the deposit fully settles, and the deposit is later reversed. This activity will result in trading restrictions being placed on your account. To remove the restrictions, you will need to deposit the full amount of the reversed funds and wait for the deposit to settle. Once the funds have settled, please contact our support team for further assistance.

How do I cancel an ACH deposit?

You can cancel a pending ACH deposit through the Webull mobile app, provided our clearing firm hasn’t processed it yet. The ability to cancel depends on when you initiated the deposit. Once your deposit is in processing, we cannot cancel the request.

To cancel your recent withdrawal request, please follow these instructions on the Webull mobile app:

App:

  1. Tap the Webull logo to select your account.
  2. Select Transfers.
  3. Tap Recent Activity and choose the withdrawal request you wish to cancel.
  4. If the withdraw is capable of being cancelled, select Cancel.

ACH deposit cancellations are handled on a best-efforts basis.
