DJ Unity Software Shares Fall 14% After-Hours

Shares of Unity Software Inc. fell 14% in after-hours trading Thursday after the company reported results for the fourth quarter and gave 2021 guidance.
The company expects revenue for 2021 to be between $950 million and $970 million, or an increase of 23% to 26% year over year. It expects to report an adjusted loss from operations between $90 million and $105 million. According to FactSet, analysts expect $954.9 million in revenue for the year.
Unity is guiding for its 2021 adjusted operating margin to be between negative 9% and negative 11%.
For the first quarter of 2021, Unity expects between $210 million and $220 million in revenue with an adjusted loss from operations of $30 million to $40 million. Analysts are expecting revenue of $214.3 million for the quarter.
The company expects its first-quarter adjusted operating margin to be between negative 14% and negative 19%.
For the fourth quarter, Unity reported $220.3 million in revenue, up 39% from a year earlier. The company had a loss of 31 cents a share and an adjusted loss of 10 cents a share. According to FactSet, analysts were expecting revenue of $204.1 million and an adjusted loss of 14 cents a share.
