A Few Charts And Thoughts On The Election
A few days ago the Census Bureau released its calculation of Median Household Income for 2019. This measure of prosperity increased at a historically significant rate.Biden's agenda is anti-growth and anti-business, in the belief that addressing income inequality, social justice, and global warming are paramount. When interest rates are super-low, it pays to borrow, and it pays to buy almost anything that will eventually benefit from renewed growth and-possibly-higher inflation. From my supply-side perspective, the most important things to watch are confidence, employment, investment, and incentives to work and invest, all of which drive supply.

Weekly S&P 500 ChartStorm - Tactics And Themes
The S&P 500 is on notice as the 50-day moving average has been breached and sentiment rolls over from bullish extremes.Given where some of the tactical indicators usually end up (down) during a correction, it looks like we could have further to go on this one.Meanwhile, there is a clear air of froth with a hot IPO market.Yet, promisingly, forward earnings have been turning up on both a near-term and longer-term basis.Cautious short term, optimistic medium/longer term.

November 3 - The Gunfight At The O.K. Corral
America is being presented with two very stark choices for the country's future and the markets, the closer we get to the election, may become very volatile and quite unruly. In normal times, there would be a push out of equities and into bonds as the "safe haven" play. However, we are not in normal times.

Stock Breakdown: It's All Right
The benchmark S&P 500 and NASDAQ 100 broke down through key technical levels to close out the week. While tech performance remains challenged as of late, most other segments of the market are holding up relatively well. The correction so far has been orderly, and investors are well served to watch for attractive entry points for stocks in the near term.

U.S. Equity Underperformance Is Just Beginning
U.S. stocks represented a staggering 67.2% of the MSCI World at the start of September, a full 8 percentage points above the prior peak seen in 2001.After recent weeks of declines, the technical picture, prevailing market sentiment, and valuations all now align for further U.S. underperformance. There is little use in waiting for a turnaround in fundamental performance before positioning for relative U.S. weakness as the fundamentals tend to lag price action by several months.

Stocks Are Falling Into Fall
All three major stock market indices completed three consecutive weeks of falling today as we head into fall next week.Apple, for example, was the fastest to rise in the market's melt-up stage and is already the fastest to have fallen into its own bear market, which it entered today by ending more than 22% below its last all-time high on Sept. 1.I see a marathon battle between the bulls and the bear as most likely, with the bear tearing away claws full of bullish flesh in painful swipe after swipe and eventually winning the day as the market hangs on those lines of support, maybe tries to rise from them, and then busts through again and again.

The Fed's New Guidance: Surprising Is Not Convincing
On 16 September, the Federal Reserve surprised many observers by releasing new forward guidance on interest rates earlier than anticipated. However, the lack of market reaction suggests that many investors are not convinced that the Fed's new guidance represents any material shift in policy.Indeed, we wonder if the Fed leadership is using surprises and emphatic language to try to compensate for a Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) that may not be fully on board with a more significant regime shift.
