Recently, CBRE released the “Chengdu Real Estate Market Review for the Third Quarter of 2024", showing that during the season, the Chengdu high-quality office market ushered in intensive supply, adding a total area of about 325,000 square meters, which is the largest supply in a single quarter in the past ten years. Demand continued to weaken during the quarter, and hot weather had a certain impact on business activities. The net absorption volume was only 16,000 square meters, a decrease of 59.5%; the overall vacancy rate in the market rose 2.3 percentage points to 26.5% month-on-month; and the vacancy rate for grade A office buildings rose 3.3 percentage points month-on-month to 33.7%. However, focusing on the demand side, as an important central city in the western region, Chengdu is still a strategic center for domestic and foreign enterprises to lay out in the west.
