What types of contributions does Webull support for IRA accounts?

Webull supports the following types of IRA contributions: annual contributions, indirect rollovers, direct rollovers, and trustee-to-trustee transfers.

How can I make an annual contribution to my IRA on Webull?

  • Contributions can be made via ACH or wire transfer.
  • All contributions must stay within IRS annual contribution limits.

What is an indirect rollover contribution, and how can I complete one?

  • Funds must be deposited within 60 days of withdrawal from another retirement account.
  • Contributions can be made via ACH or wire transfer.
  • Webull only accepts cash for indirect rollovers.
  • Missing the 60-day deadline may result in taxes or penalties.

How do I complete a direct rollover contribution to Webull?

  • Contributions must be sent via wire transfer only.
  • Must be initiated by the plan administrator of your former employer’s retirement plan.

What is a trustee-to-trustee transfer, and how does it work at Webull?

A trustee-to-trustee transfer allows you to move funds or assets directly from one IRA custodian to another without taking possession of the funds yourself. This type of transfer helps you avoid taxes or penalties, and there’s no limit to how often you can do it.

  • Transfers are processed through the ACATS (Automated Customer Account Transfer Service) system.
  • Webull supports both cash and stock transfers.
  • Most transfers are completed within 5–8 business days.
  • The sending and receiving accounts must be the same type (e.g., Traditional IRA to Traditional IRA).
  • Webull does not charge any transfer fees, but your current provider may.
