PPL Corporation is an energy company focused on providing electricity and natural gas in the United States. The Company, through its regulated utility subsidiaries, delivers electricity to customers in Pennsylvania, Kentucky, Virginia, and Rhode Island; delivers natural gas to customers in Kentucky and Rhode Island; and generates electricity from power plants in Kentucky. The Company's Kentucky Regulated segment consists primarily of Louisville Gas and Electric Company (LG&E's) and Kentucky Utilities Company (KU's) regulated electricity generation, transmission and distribution operations, as well as LG&E's regulated distribution and sale of natural gas. Pennsylvania Regulated segment includes the regulated electricity transmission and distribution operations of PPL Electric Utilities Corporation (PPL Electric). Rhode Island Regulated segment includes the regulated electricity transmission and distribution and natural gas distribution operations of Rhode Island Energy (RIE).
