PFL: After A Big Run, I'd Be More Cautious Here (Rating Downgrade)
PIMCO Income Strategy Fund (PFL) has performed extremely well since my buy rating. The fund has a premium to NAV above 4%. PFL is overweight high yield credit and non-US debt. I am shifting my rating to "hold" for the fund. I see challenges for PFL's valuation and poor income metrics.

PIMCO Update Feb 2024 | PDX Makes The Move, Valuations Remain Rich
Funds rely on at-the-market offerings and capital gains to make up for earnings shortfalls and maintain distributions. Coverage levels for taxable funds declined in January due to the falling value of the dollar. Net investment income production has been declining for several years, leading to potential distribution cuts and overvalued NAVs.

PCN: Good Bond CEF With Fully-Covered Distribution, But Huge Premium Is Problematic
The PIMCO Corporate & Income Strategy Fund offers a competitive 9.88% distribution yield. The closed-end fund has underperformed the Bloomberg U.S. Aggregate Bond Index over the past six months. The fund appears to be fully covering its distribution, but the fund is trading at an enormous premium to net asset value.

DLY: Improving Allocation And Navigating The Current Bond Market Environment Well
DoubleLine Yield Opportunities Fund offers a competitive yield for income-focused investors. The DLY closed-end fund has lower leverage than its peers and has shown positive performance over the past six months. The fund's 9.01% current yield is lower than some other bond funds, but it is appealing to risk-averse investors.

BTZ: A Decent Multi-Sector Bond Fund, But Lack Of Floaters A Risk
BlackRock Credit Allocation Income Trust is a debt-focused closed-end fund that boasts a 9.23% current yield. The BTZ fund claims to invest in a combination of floating-rate and fixed-rate debt. The fund's shares have substantially outperformed its portfolio recently but still trade at a discount.
