The Company is engaged in owning and operating of Class A multifamily properties, with select investments in grocery anchored shopping centers and Class A office buildings. Its segments include Residential Properties, real estate related financing, New Market Properties and Preferred Office Properties. Its Residential Properties segment consists of its portfolio of residential multifamily communities as well as its portfolio of owned student housing properties. Its Financing segment consists of its portfolio of real estate loans, bridge loans, and other instruments to finance the development, construction, and prestabilization carrying costs of new multifamily communities and other real estate and real estate related assets.
