The Company is principally engaged in the business of acquiring and holding positions in a concentrated number of large capitalization companies. Its objective is to maximize its long-term compound annual rate of growth in intrinsic value per share. It invests primarily in large-capitalization securities, which are highly liquid under normal market conditions. The Company may make investments in the debt securities of a private company if there is an observable market price for such debt securities. It may invest in long and short positions in equity or debt securities of the United States and non-United States issuers; distressed securities, rights, options, and warrants; bonds, notes and equity and debt indices; and swaps, swaptions, and other derivatives, among others.
