Mercury NZ Limited is a New Zealand-based company, which generates electricity from renewable sources, such as hydro, geothermal and wind. The Company is also a retailer of electricity, gas, broadband and mobile services to residential and small to medium-sized business customers. It also sells electricity to its customers through its retail brands: Mercury and GLOBUG. The Company operates through three segments: Generation/Wholesale, Customer, and Other. The generation/wholesale market segment encompasses activity associated with the electricity production, electricity trading, generation development activities. It also includes revenue from the sale of electricity, to both commercial & industrial customers. The customer market segment encompasses activity associated with sale of electricity, gas, telecommunication products/services and other related products and services to mass market customers in New Zealand. The other segment includes corporate support services.
