Exxaro Resources Limited is a diversified mining and renewable energy solutions company. The Company has interests in coal, energy, and ferrous markets. Its core operation is thermal, semi-soft coking and metallurgical coal mining, supplying Eskom, other domestic markets and offshore markets. Its projects include Belfast Coal Mine, which is situated in the Mpumalanga province, approximately 55 kilometers (km) east of Middelburg and 20 km southwest of Belfast; Grootegeluk, which is situated approximately 20 km from Lephalale in South Africa’s Limpopo province; Matla, which is situated approximately 20 km west of Kriel in Mpumalanga, South Africa, and comprises three mines that produce 14 million tons per annum. (Mtpa) of power station coal, and Leeuwpan mine, which is located over 80 km southeast of Pretoria in Mpumalanga province and produces 3.65Mtpa of thermal coal. Its renewable energy projects include Tsitsikamma Community Windfarm (TCWF) and Amakhala Emoyeni Windfarm (AE01).
