The Boston Beer Company: More Room To Run
The Boston Beer Company has commonalties with Monster Beverage; a legacy beverage maker being reignited by leading an emerging category.Competition is fierce, but I believe the business has the perfect mix of resources and brand image to defend its competitive position. The combination of a strong brand and the consistency of cash flows enable high-quality beverage makers to trade at premium multiples. It's always better buying stocks when prices decline, but I think The Boston Beer Company is a modest buy at the current price.

COVID-19 Adds To Molson Coors' Long-Term Struggles To Reposition The Business For Growth
Molson Coors continues to see the impact of a long-term shift away from its core products, and COVID-19 seems to have created some production and distribution disruptions, further hurting volumes. TAP has actually done a good job on marketing, and its new "above-premium" product launches have gone well, but it hasn't been enough to compensate for mainstream volume declines. If mainstream volumes don't improve, deleverage becomes more and more of a risk to the business. Molson Coors share don't look expensive, but it will be very difficult for the shares to outperform without improved volume trends and sustainable margin leverage.

Why I Keep Adding To My Molson Coors Position In Anticipation Of The Dividend Reinstatement
Molson Coor's Q2 was focusing on damage control, and the company did a good job, posting a pre-tax profit increase. The lower net income was caused by a non-recurring tax event, with the tax bill recorded in Q2 2020 and probably payable in 2021.The dividend will remain suspended for the remainder of the year, allowing Molson Coors to retain $375M in cash to strengthen the balance sheet.I am building a position in anticipation of a dividend reinstatement in 2021.
