China reports 20 new COVID-19 cases vs 30 a day earlier

- China reported 20 new COVID-19 cases on the mainland on Feb. 4, official data showed on Friday, down from 30 a day earlier.

The National Health Commission said in a statement that six of the new cases were locally transmitted, down from 17 a day earlier. New asymptomatic infections, which China does not classify as confirmed cases, stood at 28, up from 12.

The total number of confirmed mainland COVID-19 cases now stands at 89,669, while the death toll is unchanged at 4,636.
