According to Woofun AI, the digital asset derivatives market experienced drastic position cleaning on the morning of the 27th (local time). The total amount of forced liquidations in a single day reached US$152.97 million (about 202.7 billion won), involving a total of 68,742 traders.

Although the price of Bitcoin recovered above $80,000 and rose slightly, high volatility triggered a large number of leveraged positions, with long positions liquidated at $82.55 million (approximately KRW 109.4 billion), accounting for 54% of the total, indicating that investors betting on price increases have suffered more serious losses during short-term shocks.

Looking at specific asset performance, BTC and ETH dominated the liquidation market. The total settlement amount of the two was US$64.82 million, accounting for about 42.4% of the total liquidation amount. According to data compiled by Woofun AI, the price of BTC rose 0.30% from 24 hours ago. The transaction price was $80,039.9, and its settlement amount was US$35.82 million (about 47.5 billion won), with the long liquidation amount of US$17.72 million (approximately KRW 235 billion) and the bears liquidated US$18.1 million (approximately KRW 24 billion). BTC is also the only major instrument that has been liquidated by bears more than long ones. The losses of bulls throughout the day were mainly due to altcoins.

The price of ETH rose by 0.37% at the same time. The transaction price was $2321.45 (about 3.08 million won), and the settlement amount was $29 million (about 38.4 billion won), of which the bulls liquidated $16.02 million (about 21.2 billion won), accounting for 55.2%.

In the altcoin sector, the liquidation trend is divided: the SOL price fell 0.44%, the transaction price was $100.64 (about 133,348 won), and the settlement amount was $6.27 million (about 8.3 billion won), of which about 78% was concentrated in long positions; the ZEC price bucked the trend and rose 2.05%, and the transaction price was $1229.77 (about 1.63 million won), with a liquidation amount of USD 5.19 million (about 6.9 billion won), of which about 61.7% were short position. HYPE's price surged 2.66%, mainly due to the liquidation of short positions, amounting to approximately $1.15 million (approximately KRW 1.5 billion).

Additionally, the liquidation amounts for XRP and NEAR were approximately $1.88 million (about 2.5 billion won) and $1.78 million (about 2.4 billion won), respectively.

Notably, market sentiment has significantly reversed over time. Although long liquidations prevail throughout the day, short position liquidations reached 41.63 million US dollars (about 55.2 billion won) of the total settlement amount of 71.8 million US dollars (approximately 95.1 billion won) in the last 12 hours, accounting for about 58%, surpassing the long ones.

This trend has been strengthened in a shorter time window: in the last 4 hours, the amount of short liquidations was $9.36 million (about 12.4 billion won), higher than the longs' $6.13 million (about 8.1 billion won); in the last 1 hour, the amount of short liquidations was $2.84 million (about 3.8 billion won), which is also higher than the long liquidation amount of $2.05 million (about 2.7 billion won). This indicates that short-term selling pressure is gradually increasing, and positions betting on falling prices are also beginning to face severe liquidity tests. In terms of exchange distribution, Binance accounts for the highest share of liquidation amounts, showing its dominant position as a major liquidity provider in extreme market conditions. The single largest liquidation order occurred in Hyperliquid Exchange's BTC-USD perpetual contract, amounting to USD 1.85 million (approximately KRW 2.45 billion), further highlighting the vulnerability of highly leveraged transactions in volatile markets.

This rapid shift from bulls dominance to a surge in bears reveals the complexity of the market's game near key price levels. Although the overall price of BTC and ETH remains strong, drastic adjustments in the internal structure suggest that some funds are using volatility to make a directional shift or be forced to reduce positions. As the ratio of short liquidations rises, the short-term market may face further selling pressure tests, and investors need to be wary of the ripple effects brought about by excessive leverage ratios. This is a highly sensitive characteristic once again shown by the derivatives market after many recent large fluctuations. It indicates that the subsequent market may seek a new balance in repeated tug-of-war.
