Key Points

  • Organic revenue grew 7% in the third quarter of 2026.

  • Enterprise software gross retention remained in the mid-90s.

  • Management deployed $436 million toward three software bolt-on acquisitions.

On its third-quarter 2026 earnings call, held on Oct. 22, 2026, Roper Technologies (NASDAQ:ROP) announced 8% total revenue growth and raised its full-year earnings expectations. The company continues to generate high-margin recurring software revenues and deploys free cash flow into strategic acquisitions. Three things management said stand out.

1. AI Agents Target Specialized Enterprise Workflows

Roper is expanding software functionality by deploying specialized artificial intelligence (AI) agents directly into niche client operations, reducing manual work for users. Early tools show fast customer adoption in legal, insurance, and healthcare administration.

Since our last call, our businesses have introduced a broad range of products that apply AI to the specialized task and workflows our customers manage every day.
-- Laurence Neil Hunn, President and Chief Executive Officer

2. Acquisition Dry Powder Tops $6 Billion

Strong cash generation and proceeds from the divestment of non-core instrumentation holdings give the business substantial financial flexibility. Management plans to deploy capital into high-return bolt-on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) over the next 12 months.

Looking ahead, we now have more than $6 billion of capacity capital deployment over the next 12 months, given strong free cash flow, which will be enhanced by proceeds from Indicore's sale of its flow controls businesses.
-- Jason Conley, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

3. Enterprise Software Retention Reaches Mid-90s

Sticky software platforms prevent customer churn and create predictable cash flows, giving the business pricing power even when individual hardware product lines face temporary supply bumps. High customer retention keeps customer acquisition costs low and fuels organic growth.

Our enterprise software gross retention remains very high, consistently in the mid-90s.
-- Jason Conley, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

Looking Ahead

Product momentum across software markets is accelerating as early automated tools drive sales growth. Proprietary data sets, embedded workflows, and scale distribution protect core platforms, while leadership monitors the pace of cloud migration and user adoption.

We are still early in commercialization and are starting to see adoption and monetization of our AI solutions.
-- Laurence Neil Hunn, President and Chief Executive Officer

Capital allocation prioritizes durable cash flow compounding through disciplined acquisitions and opportunistic buybacks.

As always, our standard for deploying capital remains the same. We will pursue the opportunities that offer the most attractive durable and long term cash flow per share compounding, whether through acquisitions or opportunistic share repurchases.
-- Laurence Neil Hunn, President and Chief Executive Officer
