On October 16, 2026, the Symposium on Personalized Intelligence Standards was held during the 3rd Plenary Session of the International Telecommunication Union Focus Group on Personalized Intelligence Standards. At the seminar, ITU FG-EAI Chairman Wang Yuntao summarized the phased results of the focus group and the research progress of various working groups. Subsequently, the “Report on the Development of Embodied Intelligence” was officially released. Wang Yu, a professor at Tsinghua University, gave a special interpretation of the report. The report is based on the critical window period from laboratory verification to large-scale application, focusing on the new changes and challenges of industrial development over the past year, from clarifying the concepts of physical AI and embodied intelligence, analyzing the cold thinking under the industrial boom, clarifying the four-element framework of embodied intelligence, and analyzing the evolution of the path from “performance” to “application” and the development of the evaluation system and international standards. Finally, we look forward to future development from four aspects: restructuring the technical architecture, deepening application scenarios, improving the evaluation system, and constructing safety ethics.
