The Zhitong Finance App learned that people familiar with the matter revealed that the Swedish private equity company EQT AB is in in-depth negotiations to acquire European molecular testing company Quick & Fine Pharmaceuticals (QGEN.US) and has submitted binding quotations of more than 50 US dollars per share. People familiar with the matter also claimed that another private equity giant, KKR, also participated in the bid.

Driven by news of the takeover, Fast & Fine Pharma US stock rose 9.2% on Tuesday. The stock eventually closed up 5.05% to 48.90 US dollars, and the company's market capitalization exceeded 10 billion US dollars. Fast & Fine Pharmaceuticals went public in Frankfurt at the same time.

People familiar with the matter said that the board of directors of Quick & Fine Pharmaceuticals will meet this week to decide on the potential deal. However, there is still uncertainty as to whether related discussions will ultimately drive the sale of Fast & Fine Pharmaceuticals to EQT or other companies. Representatives from Quick & Fine Pharmaceuticals, EQT, and KKR all declined to comment.

If this acquisition is reached, it will be one of the largest healthcare deals in Europe this year, and it is also expected to put an end to years of speculation surrounding the acquisition of Fast & Fine Pharmaceuticals. In January, it was reported that Fast & Fine Pharmaceuticals was evaluating strategic options.
