A member of the leadership of Iran's parliamentary committee said on Tuesday that if the US launches military action, the Persian Gulf and surrounding waters will become a “graveyard for invading ships.” Mohammed Bayat said, “Iran's armed forces are fully prepared to defend the country, and any US military adventure will be resolutely countered by us.” He added that America's military activity and display of force will not shake Iran's determination, nor will it stabilize the regional situation. He said, “Such actions will not benefit Washington; on the contrary, they will incur heavy economic and military costs.”
