The State Administration of Immigration held a press conference on October 20 to release the main immigration management data for the third quarter of 2026. In the third quarter, immigration authorities across the country inspected a total of 192 million visitors, an increase of 7.9% over the previous year; of these, 95.96 million were residents from the mainland, 73.14 million were residents from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and 23.272 million were foreigners, up 7.4%, and 15.6%, respectively. Among them, there were 8.992 million visa-free foreigners, accounting for 77.5% of the total number of foreigners entering the country, an increase of 24.1% over the previous year. The top ten countries for inbound foreign visitors are Russia, South Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia, the United States, Mongolia, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, and Australia, accounting for 63.9% of the total number of inbound visitors.
