06:20 AM EDT, 10/16/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Studsvik (SVIK.ST) struck a framework deal with Norwegian Nuclear Decommissioning to manage spent nuclear fuel from former research reactors in Halden and Kjeller, Norway, according to a Friday release. Under the agreement, the Swedish nuclear technology company will transport the fuel to its facilities in Sweden for inspection, treatment, and storage before returning it to Norway for final disposal. The agreement runs through 2055 and has an estimated a total of 3 billion kronor to 4 billion kronor, with a minimum value of 875 million kronor, if all fuel is moved to Sweden by 2035. Studsvik said the framework remains subject to regulatory approvals and permits in both countries.
