Demand for sovereign artificial intelligence is surging as governments and defense entities seek localized, highly secure data infrastructure. By keeping model training and mission orchestration under customer control, these specialized platforms allow operators to run autonomous systems safely in data-restricted environments without relying on external public cloud architectures.
Advancing this shift toward tailored defense systems, Palantir Technologies (PLTR) and Ondas Holdings (ONDS) recently announced the formation of Regna AI to deliver sovereign AI solutions for mission-critical operations.
Ondas Holdings has strengthened its sovereign AI and defense-technology positioning through Regna AI, a standalone private company initially wholly owned by Ondas and powered by Palantir Technologies. The venture will help governments, enterprises, and institutions develop and deploy mission-specialized, fine-tuned AI models within customer-controlled environments, addressing rising demand for data sovereignty, secure edge computing, and autonomous mission orchestration.
Ondas will be Regna AI’s first customer, applying the technology to autonomous operations at the tactical edge, including drones, surveillance systems, ground vehicles, and maritime platforms. Palantir will supply model-training infrastructure and forward-deployed engineering support, while Ondas plans to scale deployments over the coming months.
For investors, the partnership reinforces Ondas’ shift from a drone and wireless connectivity provider into a broader AI-enabled defense platform, potentially supporting its revenue-growth outlook and long-term competitive moat.
Palantir Technologies is a leading artificial intelligence and data analytics software company serving government, defense, healthcare, and commercial customers. Its Foundry, Gotham, and Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP) help organizations integrate data, build AI applications, and automate mission-critical decisions, making Palantir a major beneficiary of enterprise AI adoption and rising defense-technology spending.
Palantir's stock has delivered a strong 2026 rebound after early-year volatility. PLTR is currently trading near $209, up about 17% year-to-date (YTD) and 18% over the past year.
In its latest reported quarter, Palantir generated revenue of $1.94 billion, up 93% year-over-year (YoY) and well ahead of the consensus estimate of $1.81 billion. GAAP EPS was $0.41, exceeding the $0.34 analyst forecast by $0.07, underscoring the company’s accelerating AI-driven growth and continued operating execution.
Palantir’s financial profile remains exceptionally strong. U.S. revenue rose 115% YoY to $1.573 billion, while U.S. commercial revenue surged 149% to $764 million and U.S. government revenue climbed 90% to $809 million. Net dollar retention reached 157%, signaling expanding customer spend, while the company’s Q2 earnings were approximately $1.06 billion, reflecting a profit margin of nearly 55%.
Management raised full-year 2026 revenue guidance to $8.150 billion to $8.158 billion, implying roughly 82% annual growth. The company also lifted U.S. commercial revenue guidance to more than $3.424 billion, representing at least 134% growth, and increased adjusted income from operations guidance to $4.889 billion to $4.897 billion. CEO Alex Karp indicated that current momentum should support continued growth for at least the next 18 months.
Ondas Holdings is a defense-technology and autonomous-systems company focused on drones, counter-drone solutions, and secure private wireless networks. Through its American Iron Drone and Optimus platforms, Ondas targets border security, critical infrastructure, surveillance, and military missions, positioning itself within high-growth sovereign AI, unmanned systems, and defense modernization markets.
ONDS stock has been volatile in 2026 as investors balance rapid revenue expansion against elevated spending and dilution concerns. The stock currently trades near $6.63, down about 32% YTD and 39% over the past 12 months. However, the newly announced Regna AI venture with Palantir has strengthened its sovereign-AI narrative and could support renewed investor interest.
Ondas reported record Q2 2026 revenue of $83.8 million, up more than 13 times from $6.3 million a year earlier and 67% above Q1 revenue of $50.1 million. Revenue comfortably surpassed the Zacks consensus estimate of $66.9 million, but the company posted a net loss of $89.7 million, or $0.19 per share, reflecting a major increase in growth-related and non-cash expenses.
The operating loss widened to $162.9 million from $42.7 million in the prior quarter, driven largely by $105.8 million of non-cash charges, including $67.6 million of stock-based compensation. Adjusted EBITDA loss was $50.6 million, although Ondas held approximately $1.4 billion in cash, cash equivalents, restricted cash, and short-term investments at quarter-end, providing substantial funding flexibility.
Management raised its 2026 revenue outlook to $525 million to $550 million and guided Q3 revenue to $140 million to $155 million. Ondas also expects operating-platform adjusted EBITDA profitability by Q4 2026 and company-wide adjusted EBITDA profitability by Q4 2027, supported by accelerating demand for autonomous drone, counter-drone, and sovereign AI solutions.
Palantir offers a proven AI-software growth story, but its “Moderate Buy” consensus and $207.03 average price target suggest the stock is broadly fairly valued after its rally. Ondas carries substantially higher risk yet greater upside, with a “Strong Buy” consensus, a $17.91 target, and 171% implied upside, reinforced by its Regna AI venture with Palantir and accelerating sovereign-AI demand.
PLTR suits investors prioritizing scale and execution; ONDS is a speculative defense-tech growth bet requiring a higher risk tolerance.
