The Zhitong Finance App learned that American Electric Power (AEP.US) has agreed to sell electricity to Google, a subsidiary of Alphabet (GOOGL.US), and that the project will use Bloom Energy (BE.US) fuel cells. According to a statement released on Wednesday, American Electric is expected to invest about $4 billion to build a 702 megawatt power plant in Wyoming, and construction work will begin this year.

The agreement shows that Bloom's fuel cells are receiving increasing attention for tech companies that need quick access to electricity to support high-energy AI systems. The Wyoming project is expected to be completed by the end of 2028, and construction is quite fast compared to other types of power plants.

As of press release, Bloom Energy fell nearly 3% at the beginning of the market, and US electricity rose 0.3%.
