12:41 AM EDT, 10/14/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (SASE:2222), d/b/a Saudi Aramco's subsidiary Motiva Enterprises received nearly 1 million barrels of crude oil from a tanker targeted in a cyberattack while sailing to the US, Bloomberg News reported Tuesday, citing customs data. The shipment of Arab Light oil arrived at Motiva's Port Arthur refinery in Texas, US, last week, accounting for roughly half of the 2 million barrels the VL Prosperity carried. The destination of the remaining oil remains unclear, according to the report. The tanker reportedly lost communication for 30 hours after hackers breached its systems while it was traveling from Egypt to the US. The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the US Coast Guard determined that unidentified hackers had compromised the vessel's propulsion system before its arrival in Texas in August. Aramco and Motiva did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment. (Market Chatter news is derived from conversations with market professionals globally.
