According to a report by Taiwan Economic Daily, there is news that leading global foundry companies intend to go to Texas to set up a second US park. In response, Formosa Plastics Chairman Guo Wenbi revealed that Formosa Plastics has a geographical advantage in Texas and is evaluating plans to expand the manufacture of electronic chemicals in the US to actively support customers in expanding production. Guo Wenbi stressed that the relevant investment still needs to be determined by the customer's factory construction plan, and specific plans will not be further drawn up until the location and requirements of the factory are clarified. Guo Wenbi pointed out that Formosa Plastics already has a complete petrochemical production base in Dezhou. If large wafer manufacturers choose to build local factories, Formosa Plastics can rely on existing production bases and raw material supply advantages to shorten chemical transportation distances and reduce logistics costs.
