To own Almonty Industries, you really have to buy into a fairly concentrated tungsten story. The pitch is simple enough. A newly certified Sangdong plant tied into 21 years of contracted offtake, layered on top of an existing Portuguese operation, gives the business a clearer production base in a market where current tungsten prices are described as historically high. The big short term swing factors are operational now. Management needs a clean ramp up at Sangdong, consistent recoveries and tight cost control so those long term contracts translate into cash, not just tonnage.
The shift to PwC as auditor from Zeifmans fits into that picture as a governance signal more than a direct earnings catalyst. For most investors, it probably does not change the central questions around capital intensity, funding mix and how quickly Almonty Industries can turn contracted volumes into steady free cash flow, especially after recent share price volatility and past dilution. It does, though, place a bit more attention on the quality of reported numbers at a time when non cash earnings are already flagged as high.
That said, tucked under the Sangdong ramp up story and the new auditor, there is still one uncomfortable wrinkle around ...

One issue the most pessimistic analysts keep circling is valuation risk. They argue Almonty Industries is already pricing in a smooth Sangdong ramp and clean capital deployment, even as they were pencilling in about CA$996.7 million of revenue and CA$594.7 million of earnings by 2029 on roughly a 16.8x P/E. This presents a much harsher picture than consensus. Use this certification news and the PwC switch as a prompt to test those lower forecasts yourself and decide which narrative you find more convincing.
