The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy of Iran issued a statement on the 9th saying that future actions against illegal ships will not be limited to the Strait of Hormuz. Any vessel that sails on unauthorized routes will be “severely punished”. The statement said the Navy hit a “large” ship carrying liquefied petroleum gas in the past few hours, and the ship attempted to cross the strait via an “illegal” route.
