The Zhitong Finance App learned that Hong Kong Financial Secretary Chen Maobo said while attending the opening ceremony of the “CUHK Science Expo Club” that the Hong Kong government is building a broad runway for startups, continuing to increase investment in science and innovation, promote Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong science and innovation cooperation, and build a university city in the northern metropolitan area to promote the integrated development of education, technology, and talents, and guide patient capital to support early projects and accompany their long-term growth.

Chen Maobo said that the Hong Kong government continues to optimize the listing platform to make it easier for more companies to raise capital and vigorously introduce key enterprises. It is hoped that no matter what stage the project is in, it can find excellent partners and financial support in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Government attaches importance to nurturing local talents. The number of students studying STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) subjects has increased in recent years, which is encouraging. At the same time, mainland and overseas talents are welcome to develop in Hong Kong. I believe that only by maintaining openness and allowing talents with different backgrounds to exchange and cooperate can we inject vitality into science and innovation.

The “CUHK Science Expo Club” will be held for 2 consecutive days starting today (October 9), including 44 innovative research and entrepreneurship team presentations, covering the four major fields of artificial intelligence, life science, advanced manufacturing, education and social innovation.
