Aegon Shareholders Back US Redomiciliation

12:17 AM EDT, 10/09/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Aegon (AGN.AS) shareholders approved the proposed redomiciliation of the company to the US. The Amsterdam-listed insurer said Thursday that shareholders voted in favor of the redomiciliation and its omnibus incentive plan during an extraordinary general meeting held the same day. The plan involves the repurchase of all outstanding common shares B under the ownership of the company's largest shareholder, Vereniging Aegon, in exchange for common shares. The interim bye-laws will take effect upon completion of the transaction, expected on Oct. 15. Vereniging Aegon will be renamed Vereniging Aegon Americas and retain an 18.4% stake in Aegon.
