Roche's Genentech Obtains US FDA Approval for Tecentriq Plus Chemotherapy as Colon Cancer Treatment

11:42 PM EDT, 10/08/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Roche's (RO.SW) Genentech unit secured approval from the US Food and Drug Administration for Tecentriq, or atezolizumab, plus chemotherapy as a treatment for stage 3 mismatch repair deficient, or dMMR, colon cancer. According to the Thursday notice, Tecentriq plus chemotherapy is indicated for adult and pediatric patients at least two years. The combination of Tecentriq Hybreza and chemotherapy was also approved as adjuvant treatment for patients with stage 3 dMMR colon cancer aged 12 years and older who weigh 40 kilograms or more. The decision was granted under priority review and was based on the results of the Atomic/ML39057 study, which involved 711 adults and one pediatric patient.
