According to Iran's official media reports, Iran's Atomic Energy Organization Chairman Mohammed Islam said on October 8 that Iran will not abandon uranium enrichment activities or hand over the uranium it owns. Islam said, “Enrichment is an essential part of the nuclear process, and we will never abandon it in any way. How can you claim to have a nuclear industry if you don't even have a starting point for this process? The nuclear industry is the driving force of science and technology.”
