12:21 PM EDT, 10/08/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Metacon's (META.ST) Greek unit secured funding from the European Union to develop a pilot plant in Greece that would convert biomethane into clean hydrogen using the company's reforming technology. The Swedish hydrogen production systems developer's Metacon SA unit will build the pilot plant for the BIOH2VAP project at an industrial biogas facility on the island of Crete, according to a Tuesday release. The project aims to demonstrate an integrated process that uses agricultural and livestock residues to produce biomethane and hydrogen. Metacon SA's budget for the project is 302,400 euros, with the EU grant covering 241,920 euros of that amount.
