On June 16, 2025, an explosion occurred at Hunan Shanzhou Fireworks Co., Ltd. in Linli County, Changde City, Hunan Province, resulting in 9 deaths, 26 injuries, and direct economic losses of 23.19 million yuan. On October 8, 2026, the accident investigation team of the Hunan Provincial People's Government released the accident investigation report. After investigation, it was determined that the “6.16” explosion at Linli Shanzhou Fireworks Company in Changde was a major production safety liability accident caused by the company involved using an electric tricycle to overturn the lights, as well as rush ahead during the construction period, illegal risk-taking operations, “three super and one reform”, subcontracting and subcontracting. The intermediary agency issued a false safety assessment report, and the relevant party committee, government, and departments failed to implement production safety responsibilities and supervision. After the accident occurred, the Hunan Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision Commission set up an investigation team to seriously prosecute public officials in units such as the Provincial Emergency Management Department, the Changde Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, the Linli County Committee and County Government, the Linli County Emergency Management Bureau, the Shuxiandu Town of Linli County, and the Liuyang Municipal Emergency Management Bureau in accordance with the rules and regulations.
