Sri Lanka's Deputy Minister of Finance Anil Jayanta Fernando said that the country is discussing follow-up cooperation plans with the International Monetary Fund and plans to establish a new cooperation framework in addition to the current reform and recovery projects due to expire in March 2027. Fernando said in parliament on Thursday that the relevant negotiations “reflect a shift in the model of cooperation from crisis relief to a more sustainable cooperation mechanism aimed at long-term growth.”
