The Zhitong Finance App learned that chip stocks continued to decline. As of press release, Huahong Hongli (01347) fell 9.07% to HK$95.75; SMIC (00981) fell 6.40% to HK$57.

According to the news, the latest revenue report released by TSMC on October 8 shows that TSMC's revenue in September was NT$511.86 billion, down 0.6% from the previous month and up 54.6% from the previous year. TSMC's revenue for the first three quarters of 2026 was NT$38,98.73 billion, up 41.1% year over year.

Goldman Sachs recently released a research report saying that TSMC's revenue is expected to increase 15.3% month-on-month (in US dollars) in the third quarter and further increase by 11.0% in the fourth quarter, and maintain rapid expansion throughout the year, supported by strong demand for AI and high-performance computing. Goldman Sachs predicts gross margins of 67.5% and 67.3% for the third quarter and fourth quarter, respectively, a slight drop from 67.7% in the second quarter, mainly reflecting the short-term cost dilution effect brought about by the steep decline in the N2 process.
