06:41 AM EDT, 10/07/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (SASE:2222), d/b/a Saudi Aramco, is considering a potential carve-out of its gas business and future gas exports as production from the Jafurah field rises, London's Financial Times reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the company's plans. The state-owned oil giant is considering separating its gas business under an initiative known as "Project Gamma," while also exploring ways to generate more value from its real estate, power, water and oil storage assets, according to the report. Jafurah, which began production in 2025, is expected to help lift Aramco's gas output by 80% from 2021 levels by the end of the decade, the report added. Aramco did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment. (Market Chatter news is derived from conversations with market professionals globally.
