03:50 AM EDT, 10/07/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Berenberg believes SSE plc's (SSE.L, SCT.F, SCTA.F) fiscal first-half 2027 trading update implied the British utility is on course to achieve its 2027 and 2030 EPS targets. The research firm said Tuesday that SSE's affirmation of an adjusted EPS guidance of 1.68 pounds sterling to 1.93 pounds for fiscal 2027 and between 2.25 pounds and 2.50 pounds for fiscal 2030 supports Berenberg's forecast of an 11% compound annual EPS growth rate through 2031. Additionally, analysts reiterated that they see "strong" growth prospects for the group well into the next decade. "The National Energy System Operator's (NESO's) Beyond 2030 plans already identify ~GBP89bn of projects needed across the UK to deliver energy security, reduce costly grid congestion and support national decarbonisation targets. Seven of these projects, representing cGBP17bn of capex, relate to SSE's transmission network. We expect evolution rather than revolution in the introduction of future competition by the government and regulator, limiting the threat to long-term growth; in fact, competition might even prove to be beneficial. SSE remains our top pick given the relative magnitude, visibility and duration of its growth opportunity on one of the sector's cheapest valuations," the note said. Berenberg maintained its buy rating and price target of 29.80 pounds on the stock.
