Iran's former oil minister Mohsin Paknejad said that his resignation had nothing to do with US President Trump's claim that he left office because Iran “no longer has oil.” Trump on Tuesday cited the resignation of Iran's oil minister and the nearly 300% inflation rate as evidence that Iran's economy is under tremendous pressure. Paknejad said, “My resignation has nothing to do with Trump's statement. Even under sanctions and blockades, Iran continues to produce and export oil.” He stressed once again that despite sanctions and blockades, oil production and exports have not been interrupted.
