11:26 PM EDT, 10/06/2026 (MT Newswires) -- BHP (BHP.L, BHG.JO) agreed to divest the Kambalda nickel concentrator, including tenements and mineralization rights, in Western Australia to operator Gold Fields. Completion is anticipated in 2027, subject to certain conditions, including regulatory approvals, according to a Wednesday release. Gold Fields is expected to evaluate options for the concentrator's long-term use. Meanwhile, the mining company said that it will review the 2024 suspension of its Western Australia nickel assets by February 2027. Its options include divesting the remaining assets, restarting operations, continuing the temporary suspension or closing the facilities.
