Wan Leader International Limited (HKG:8482) insiders who bought shares over the past year were rewarded handsomely last week. The stock rose 10%, resulting in a HK$2.2m rise in the company's market capitalisation, translating to a gain of 25% on their initial investment. Put another way, the original HK$4.67m acquisition is now worth HK$5.84m.

While insider transactions are not the most important thing when it comes to long-term investing, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

Does Wan Leader International Boast High Insider Ownership?

Looking at the total insider shareholdings in a company can help to inform your view of whether they are well aligned with common shareholders. This level of insider ownership is good but just short of being particularly stand-out. It certainly does suggest a reasonable degree of alignment.
