The monthly shipment volume surpassed the previous monthly record of 11 million tons set in March 2023. Compared with the same period last year, export volume increased by 42.2% in September, while oil shipment revenue jumped 77.3%, reaching about 6.5 billion US dollars. This strong performance was supported by Brazil's production reaching a new high and rising international demand. The war between the US and Israel against Iran has put pressure on global oil flows and boosted crude oil prices mainly through the suspension of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Brazilian oil production is benefiting from the continued expansion of salt oil fields, particularly in the Buzius and Mero regions of the Santos Basin.
