Ministry of Transport: On October 5, the number of people moving across regions in the whole society was 303.337 million

The Zhitong Finance App learned that, according to the Ministry of Transport, on October 5 (5th day of the National Day holiday), the entire society moved 303.337 million people across regions, down 0.7% from the previous month and 1.7% higher than the same period in 2025 (October 6, 6th day of the Mid-Autumn Festival National Day holiday, same below).

Among them: railway passenger traffic was 20.47 million, up 3.6% month-on-month, up 28.5%; highway passenger traffic was 278.31 million, down 0.9% month-on-month and 0.1% year-on-year (of which commercial highway passenger traffic was 39.81 million, up 4.2% month-on-month, up 3.7% year-on-year; and 238.5 million non-commercial passenger passenger cars traveled on highways and ordinary national and provincial highways, down 0.5% year on year);

Waterway passenger traffic was 1.53 million, down 16.3% from the previous month, up 18.7% year on year; civil aviation passenger traffic was 2.45 million, up 5.5% month on month and 1.7% year on year.
