The Zhitong Finance App learned that according to incomplete statistics from Jibang Optical Storage's observation, in the third quarter of 2026, orders disclosed by Chinese energy storage companies were mainly in overseas markets. Judging from the disclosed orders, the total number of orders for the Q3 energy storage system is about 94 GWh, and the total number of orders for energy storage cells is about 246.6 GWh. The scope of the above statistics includes contract, operation, and delivery orders. Judging from the disclosed contract orders, the Q3 Chinese enterprise energy storage system contract scale is about 74 GWh, of which the overseas market orders are about 67.8 GWh, accounting for 93%.

Overseas orders account for over 90%, and orders from Europe and the Middle East are concentrated

The European market is still an important landing point for Chinese energy storage companies in overseas business. The European market disclosed a contract scale of about 31.2 GWh in the third quarter, accounting for 42% of the total contract scale. The region covers a wide range of orders. In addition to mature markets such as Germany and the United Kingdom, emerging markets such as Greece and Romania have also signed large-scale orders.

The Middle East market has signed an order capacity of about 21.3 GWh, accounting for about 28.7% of the total contract capacity. Among them, BYD received an 11.275GWh energy storage order in July, the largest single order in Q3; in September, Guoxuan Hi-Tech signed a 6GWh order from Saudi Arabia, while Huawei received an order for a 4GWh project in Egypt. These large orders increase the overall contract scale.

In the Asia-Pacific market (excluding China), Q3 has signed an order of approximately 14.6 GWh, mainly from markets such as Australia, India, Japan, the Philippines and Malaysia. In contrast, the order scale in the American market is smaller, and the contracted capacity is about 1.94 GWh.

GW-class single frequency now accounts for 85.3% of the total number of signed orders

Looking at the order size, in the 2026 Q3 energy storage system orders, it is clear that there are 19 orders with a scale of 1 GWh and above, totaling about 62.2 GWh, accounting for 84% of all signed orders.

Among them, there were 5 orders with a single scale of 5 GWh or more. They are the 11.275GWh order signed by BYD and UAE energy company Masdar; the Saudi 6GWh order signed by Guoxuan Hi-Tech; the 5GWh order between Chuneng New Energy and Danish KK Group; the 5GWh Tianheng Sodium-Electric Energy Storage System order signed by Ningde Times and European new energy integrator Alfen N.V.; and the 5GWh energy storage system order signed between Rongjie Energy and Indian power company JSW Energy Limited.

Orders for 1GWh-5GWh are also concentrated, involving companies such as Ningde Times, BYD, Sunshine Power, Everweft Lithium Energy, Huawei, Chuneng New Energy, Haibo Sichuang, and Singularity Energy.

Energy storage cell orders reached 246.6 GWh, large capacity and sodium electricity orders increased

According to incomplete statistics from Jibang Optical Storage, the Q3 Chinese energy storage company disclosed a battery contract order of about 246.6 GWh. Among them, the 206GWH battery supply framework agreement signed by Everweft Lithium Energy and Fluence accounts for a relatively high scale, but its order supply cycle covers 2027-2031, which is a long-term supply agreement.

In terms of products, 314Ah is still an important product in current orders, and high-capacity batteries have also begun to enter the market on a large scale. Pengcheng Infinity signed a 25 GWh long-term supply contract with Jiayang Energy, of which 20 GWh is a 314 Ah energy storage battery and 5 GWh is a 587 Ah high-capacity battery; Rongjie Energy signed a 4 GWh framework cooperation agreement with Lineage Power, involving 314 Ah and 588 Ah lithium iron phosphate batteries.

Sodium-ion batteries have also begun to expand into overseas markets. Zhongke Sodium and Korea Volta Co., Ltd. signed a 5-year long-term supply agreement for 10GWh sodium-ion batteries.

The scale of orders signed by BYD and Ningde Era both exceeded 10 GWh

BYD (01211) signed an order of about 13.68 GWh, mainly from the European and Middle Eastern markets. Among them, the Polish market received an order of 600 MW/2.4 GWh, and the Middle East market order scale reached 11.275 GWh. The products are mainly Haohan energy storage systems, and the application scenarios are mainly large-scale energy storage projects.

The Ningde Era (03750) contract scale is about 13.65 GWh, and the market covers Europe, South America and other regions. European orders are relatively concentrated, involving markets such as Greece, the United Kingdom, and Romania; in addition, it also received 200MW/1.3GWh orders from Chile. In terms of products, Tianheng Sodium-Electric Energy Storage System has received an order of 5 GWh from Europe.

Chuneng New Energy signed orders of about 7 GWh. Among them, the Malaysian and Thai markets received orders for 2 GWh DC-side energy storage products, while the European market received orders for 5 GWh energy storage systems.

Guoxuan Hi-Tech (002074.SZ) won the first centralized battery energy storage system tender project in Saudi Arabia. It won the bid scale of 6 GWh, divided into three sites: Al Muwayah, Haden, and Al Kahafa. Each site is 500 mW/2 GWh. The project will be equipped with a Ganyuan Smart Storage centralized energy storage system.

Sunshine Power (300274.SZ) signed an order of about 5.56 GWh. The market covers Southeast Asia, Europe and South America. Some orders use PowerTitan 2.0 and PowerTitan 3.0 energy storage systems.
