The China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing announced today the September China Commodity Price Index. Judging from the index's performance, with the arrival of the peak season for traditional production and construction, the accelerated implementation of major projects, and continuous improvement in manufacturing production and market demand, the commodity market sentiment level further improved, laying a good foundation for the smooth operation of the economy in the fourth quarter. China's commodity price index in September was 137.6 points, up 4.1% month-on-month and 22.9% year-on-year. Of the 50 commodities monitored by the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, there were 38 commodities whose prices rose month-on-month in September. Among them, methanol, ethylene glycol, and coke had the highest increases, rising 39.5%, 24.8%, and 20.4%, respectively. By industry, due to factors such as rising international crude oil prices, tight supply of some products, and rising production costs, the energy and chemical price indices rose sharply, rising 14.8% and 13.7%, respectively. As the traditional production and construction season enters, industrial transformation and upgrading accelerates, and manufacturing and construction demand improves, the non-ferrous, black, and mineral price indices all rose month-on-month.
