The first Alamein Africa Forum opened on the 2nd in Alamein New City, Egypt. The forum was co-organized by the Egyptian Government, the African Export-Import Bank and the African Union Development Agency. Approximately 1,500 representatives from various African governments, international and regional financial institutions, public sector and private enterprises participated. Forum topics covered areas such as infrastructure, trade, critical minerals, digital innovation, healthcare, and emerging industries. According to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the forum provided a platform for governments, enterprises and financial institutions to explore investment opportunities and strengthen partnerships. The aim was to strengthen resource mobilization, attract investment, and promote economic integration and sustainable development in Africa. Egypt's Minister of Planning and Economic Development Ahmed Rostom said that deepening ties with African countries is Egypt's “strategic priority.” He called for treating Africa as a closer integrated economic system and promoting “joint innovation” between Egyptian entrepreneurs and their African peers through technology exchanges and joint construction of cross-border regional value chains. The Alamein Africa Forum will be held every two years in Alamein New City as a permanent forum.
