South Korea's top five banks have successively been attacked by suspected AI-driven hackers, and some institutions have leaked customer personal information. Following the leak of data on about 25,000 people from Shinhan Bank, Kookmin Bank and Bank of Korea and Bank of Asia confirmed that the personal information of 119 and 89 people had been leaked, respectively. Woori Bank and Nonghyup Bank were also suspected of being attacked by hackers. Unlike previous direct attacks on the main server, this time the attackers exploited employee or business support system vulnerabilities through repeated infiltration, raising suspicions of AI automated hacking attacks.
