Vicat Looks to Purchase Cemex's Ready-mix Concrete Operations in France

03:37 AM EDT, 10/01/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Vicat (VCT.PA) plans to acquire Mexican building materials company Cemex's ready-mix concrete and aggregates operations in southeastern France, according to a Thursday release. The proposed deal covers Cemex's subsidiaries Cemex Granulats Rhône Méditerranée, Cemex Béton Rhône Alpes, and Cemex Béton Sud Est, which operate 48 ready-mix concrete plants, nine aggregates quarries, related services and certain interests in joint ventures across the Rhône Valley and the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. The Paris-listed cement and construction materials company has signed a preliminary memorandum of understanding with Cemex for the potential deal. Subject to employee consultations and regulatory approvals, the transaction is expected to close before the end of 2026.
