National Energy Administration: 354 million green certificates were issued in August, an increase of 15.75% month-on-month

The Zhitong Finance App learned that in August 2026, the National Energy Administration issued 354 million green certificates, an increase of 15.75% over the previous month, involving 3.7096 million renewable energy power generation projects, of which 212 million green certificates can be traded, accounting for 60.04%. The amount of renewable energy issued in the current period in July 2026 corresponds to 323 million green certificates, accounting for 91.41%.

Status of green certificate transactions

In August 2026, 60.55 million green certificates were traded nationwide, up 11.13% month-on-month and 25.18% year-on-year. Among them, there were 25.52 million green certificates for green electricity transactions, a decrease of 0.25% month-on-month and an increase of 44.86% year-on-year.

In August 2026, the country traded 3.53 million green certificates alone, up 21.21% month-on-month and 13.91% year-on-year. Among them, the electricity production year was 1.64 million green license transactions in 2024, with an average price of 0.61 yuan/unit; the electricity production year was 15.86 million green license transactions in 2025, with an average price of 321 yuan/unit; the electricity production year was 17.53 million green license transactions in 2026, with an average price of 6.32 yuan/unit.
