China Automobile Association: The total import and export volume of automobile products in August was US$30.60 billion, down 5.3% month-on-month, up 18.6% year-on-year

The Zhitong Finance App learned that according to data from the General Administration of Customs compiled by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in August, the total import and export volume of automobile products was US$30.60 billion, down 5.3% from the previous month and up 18.6% from the previous year. Among them, the import amount was 2.77 billion US dollars, down 22.4% from the previous year, down 33.5% year on year; the export value was 27.83 billion US dollars, down 3.2% month on month, up 28.6% year on year. From January to August 2026, the country's cumulative total import and export volume of automobile products was US$227.65 billion, an increase of 25.1% over the previous year. Among them, imports amounted to US$25.59 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 16.1%; exports amounted to US$20.06 billion, an increase of 33.4% year-on-year.
