In August 2026, the country's production of stainless steel crude steel was 3.6591 million tons, an increase of 32,000 tons over the previous month, an increase of 0.88%. Among them, Cr-Ni stainless steel production was 1,8982 million tons, a decrease of 22,200 tons, a decrease of 1.19%; Cr-Mn stainless steel production was 1.025 million tons, a decrease of 0.77%; Cr stainless steel production was 690,600 tons, an increase of 18,800 tons, an increase of 2.80% over the previous year; and the production of duplex stainless steel was 49,730 tons, a decrease of 2.19%.

In January-August, China imported a total of 1.012 million tons of stainless steel and a cumulative export volume of 2.895,500 tons

In August 2026, China's imports of stainless steel were 140,900 tons, an increase of 24,500 tons, an increase of 21.7%; a year-on-year increase of 23,800 tons, an increase of 20.29%. In January-August, China's total imports of stainless steel were 1.012 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 0.57,000 tons, or 0.56%.

In August 2026, China exported a total of 445,700 tons of stainless steel, an increase of 54,300 tons over the previous year, an increase of 13.87%; a year-on-year decrease of 0.22,000 tons, a decrease of 0.49%. From January to August, China's total stainless steel exports were 2.895,500 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 468,700 tons, or 13.93%.

In August 2026, the total net export volume was 304,800 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 25,900 tons, or 7.83%. In January-August, the total net export volume was 1.883,500 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 463,000 tons, a decrease of 9.73%.
